Heidi Klum once again proved her status as the Queen of Halloween!
The 51-year-old supermodel hosted her 23rd annual Halloween Party at the Hard Rock Hotel New York: The Venue on Music Row.
Klum, who has been known for her outrageous Halloween costumes over the years, appeared as both a male and female version of ET in Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film ET the Extra-Terrestrial.
On the red carpet, Klum told PEOPLE that she chose to play the character because ET was “part of our lives” and she was always “a big fan.”
“[I] had different ideas about the world, and I thought ET was so cute and he was making fun of himself, just like the times when ET was dressed in a bun and stuff,” she says, noting that it would have been fun to become ET and especially to meet both of them.
According to The New York Times, the costume includes a light-up fingertip, a nod to the popular movie, and a motorized headpiece with moving nose and eyes.
It took him about two months to make the costume.

Monáe, 38, previously told PEOPLE that her version of the costume took years to create.
“I shared an outfit idea with a collaborator, actually, and tried to get an estimate of what the cost would be.” “And then I found out it was him and I had this costume planned for two years, noting that she would be dressed as “a famous movie character.”
Klum revealed she had finished her final adjustments to her costume on Wednesday.
“It’s very exciting,” Klum said in an Instagram clip. “Just made my final adjustment and it’s going to be awesome. Hopefully.
“That’s all for you tomorrow,” she said before blowing a kiss to the camera.
